I am helping Bruno Hérault and Stéphane Traissac in the supervising of Nino Page. He realizes a master 2 thesis on the impact of selective logging on tropical forest. He will use the forest simulator TROLL to particularly assessed this impact in the context of French Guiana.

Forest disturbances are the third worldwide source of greenhous gas. Tropical deforestation and degradation emit 8.26 billion of tons of carbon dioxyde per year. Deforestation has retained much attention, but degradation from forest represents 20% of emissions in brazilian Amazon.
